Josh's Very merry unxmas present!

This is the material that i picked out for josh's duvet cover... I loved it and really thought about his room and what he already had going on in there. I made my first tailored bed skirt with box pleats that is made of the same black material as the back and the two side stripes! I loved the look of it when i got to see it on his bed! I really really love doing this stuff and am thinking about making and selling one of a kind duvet/ beds to sell! to me the time and the effort are fun because i get instant gratification! and I love to give these to the people that I love... something about making it with love for someone and to know that I am wrapping them up with my love everytime they go to sleep!

the happiest place on earth!

I loved Mr. Potato Head... He talks to people in the line and interacts with them... you cant help but stop and watch him when you pass by the ride...

Oh and the thing i learned about disneyland... you have to listen to what other people have done... because usually there is so much more than what we normally do! I dragged bryce to watch crush the sea turtle talk to us. he didn't want to go watch, but i told him it was something nana (my mom) loved... guess what he didn't stop talking about!!! after this though I became the worst aunt ever and took him on the tower of terror... I thought he had been on it... YUP no he sure hadn't... he confused it with the haunted hotel... so going up i wasn't really hearing the clues that he was throwing out... like "how do they get the pictures to talk" and " I don't want to go see their rooms" OOOOOPS! as soon as it pulled back and we were looking into the mirror of ourselves was when i realized my failure at really hearing what he was saying! He buried his head in my arm and refused to look... I asked him "Bryce, haven't you ridden this ride?" he murmured a very muffled no... I just need you to know the panic that set in... I wanted to scream "LET ME OFF THIS RIDE" But really what good would that do... I told him really fast what was about to happen, really not knowing if he heard or not and prayed that he would be ok! So the moral of this story... Really listen to what people are saying, not just think you are! Oh and this ride is far more scary with your eyes clinched shut!
Waiting in line for toy story and wondering what the ride was going to be like... yup its the funnest! The couple in front of us said "its like buzz lightyear... only better" This was the line that bryce was not happy about having to wait in. I kept telling him to suck it up because that's what you have to do in order to be at disneyland!!! He was really spoiled because of the lack of lines!
This sounds cheesy, but when i was riding this ride and the sun was peeking out from the clouds, I looked over and saw this and thought to myself... I hope the sun always shines on his face! I have always thought this about my nephews and niece and its a humbling thought... THEY CAN DO ANYTHING!!!

Thunder mountain in the dark tunnels! Bryce doesn't like the dark parts! I love our eyes though, you can tell we were being flung around a corner and were bracing ourselves!

waiting in the line for space mountain!!! Bryce wanted the front of the ride... he's no fool! we shot around and i got to hear him scream on a ride for the first time! i love this ride and every time i ride it I think of mom prettyman! I will always remember doing my giggle laugh/scream and making her laugh to the point of no noise and tears streaming down her face!

we started the day with it raining!!! do you know what that means... NO LINES! really we waited for the tram... i think that felt like the longest line! Our butts got wet but oh well... this is also where i realized that i don't like wet feet! cuz as we all learned in forest gump... you gotta take care of your feet, nothing is as important as your feet!

DESPERATE!

so kim and marne aren't the only people desperate to get their hair cut! so here's the thing... my hair was driving me crazy... it was so unhealthy and broken that i refused to straighten it because i knew that i would sit and pick at all the broken ends. today, as i was sitting at family dinner and the crowd was thinning out i couldn't take it anymore and told my mom that she was going to cut my hair! i went out to my car and grabbed my scissors (i had them in case joel or shannon wanted a cut) came in and started sectioning my hair. I sat on the chair and the flashbacks of youth started running in my head... whenever my mom would get her hands on my head i would end up in the bathroom crying... I sucked it up and started explaining exactly how i wanted it... 90 degrees out of my head with your fingers at a 45 degree angle... cut on the inside of your fingers... when she and my sister (who i wrangled into staying to support me) were able to decipher what i was saying, held our breaths and the cut started. I walked her through it, while i held a mirror and nesha held another, i watched and told her exactly how to do it... the first cut they were nervous but i looked at it and told them it was perfect. they moved through and did an amazing job! I had her deep point cut into my hair and as i sat there and explained they looked at me like i was crazy, they did it and then brushed it out... they both had a look on their faces that said that, ooooh she does know what she is talking about! nesha eventually unlocked her nervous death grip on the mirror and my mom was able to put away the scissors and comb without me wailing in the bathroom! i can say now that at least i do know what i am doing and even though my mom did the classic one side longer than the other, i could fix it and i just need you to know that I AM CUTE!

the joys of the d.m.v.

my liscense plate tags were expired...so after various wrangling with the main office in sacramento i decided that i was done with the mail correspondence and got up really early and got down to the d.m.v. in hillcrest. as i got in and got my number, B21, i went to go sit down and patiently wait for my number. i sat there and various thoughts came to mind...
1.the d.m.v makes me itch. even just thinking about it i have to scratch my head.
2. i wonder when i am going to have to wash my hair to get rid of any lice that i caught from the various strangers sitting by me.
3. the chairs are TOOOOO close together and I don't like sitting on a strangers lap.
4. i don't speak spanish, tagalog, french or any other language, so its not that fun to sit and decifer what the crap is being said in the moments of uncomfortableness when you are sitting on top of each other.
5. i don't like to get hit in the head with purses diaper bags or briefcases.
6.i wonder why the place has to be so sterile and laugh as we all sit there with blank faces and try to avoid eye contact with anyone.
7.i feel like i am trapped in the movie beetlejuice.
8. everytime the voice came on i thought it was funny that everyone would look down praying that it was your number.
9. finally getting called is the BEST feeling in the world and you feel like a true winner with someone yelling "come on down, nicomi"
10 scrambling to get to the counter before they give up on you and push for some other ticket to get there.
11. you better PRAY you have all the documents whether they be something obscure or something obvious... or else you will be trapped in a never ending hell as the clerk looks at your very frustrated face and with glee in their hearts they send you scurrying for some other piece of paper filed in some other place that you have to remember!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!

the year has come and gone... i can't believe its 2009! so many interesting things happened last year, good, bad and the never mentioned but its always good to ring in the new years with people that you love! we chilled up at my friend karens house, invaded was more like it, but i felt at home walking in and seeing a new adult every second and then the kids running everywhere... i don't think i ever got a name to a face but they were cute! it was fun to celebrate a fake new year with them and to do those poppers... i didn't know where to hold it and it really has a kick when held incorrectly!
